Why would anyone follow certain web designers and developers on Instagram? For people of their ilk, it’s staying on top of trends, learning about the latest advancements in tools, designs, processes, and languages, and staying connected in the industry.
For lesser mortals, it’s getting inspiration for a project, having a source of tips, guides, services, and products, taking a peek into a programmer’s life or simply fancying an overload of eye candy. Web developers and designers have a niche following, and the ones who have invested time and effort into their accounts have accrued a massive following, becoming influencers and reaping the financial benefits as well.
These popular UX/UI developers and designers probably didn’t create their Instagram accounts with the goal to make money. The followers came for their high-quality photos and videos, and the rest followed. Getting real Instagram likes definitely helps. It makes other users feel like they should be in on that board, too.

Happy Saturday I spent my morning speaking to Loyola Chicago’s @girlswhocode chapter about what it’s like to be a woman in technology. I shared a bit about my journey & how I got started – which is something I always find interesting and most importantly, I shared the amazing community we have for women in technology here on Instagram & on the internet in general. We might not realize it, but our contributions to this community are extremely important. Every post, every story, every word is impactful. I’m so grateful to have a platform to share my story with the world & inspire more girls to pursue careers in STEM! keep inspiring & striving for more! #womenintech #womeninstem #girlswhocode

If you know, you know #fortnite — I was genuinely planning to work today… but then I found out they dropped a new season of Fortnite — It’s decent, feels more like an actual game with the new bits they added, instead of a pure-play MMORPG. I usually play on the Switch, but the iPad has better graphics and 60fps. Plus, it’s nice being able to use my PlayStation controller with it, though I’m not sure why I don’t just play it on my PlayStation — Anyway, that’s enough gaming for today. This evening _will_ actually be filled with me writing code — Happy Thursday, folks

Although I’ve worked with many great women, I rarely took the time out to tell them how amazing they were. Women like @clazza who took me under her wing in my first design role and made me feel like I could be great! Or @_ighi who is a constant source of strength and support when I need to VENT! So tag a badass woman you’ve worked with and tell her why she’s so great Bet you it will make her day • • #design #uxdesign #uxdesigner #womensupportingwomen #gratitude #designjobs #beingadesigner #designlife #designteam
